How to support other Small Businesses

Consumers are constantly looking for ways to support local but it can be different for other small businesses to support our fellow entrepreneurs. We know too well the difficulties small business owners face and we know the power of support from referrals. So why not help each other out at the beginning of this beautiful year? Here are 5 ways we can support our fellow small businesses.

  1. ALWAYS LOOK TO SMALL AND LOCAL FIRST - When looking for new services, vendors, or products for your own business look local first. It is much more beneficial to you because local vendors usually have more unique products, better pricing, and personalized customer service. Money is then kept local for a better economy and creates more jobs. It helps everyone. Check out Utahs Native American Chamber's Member Directory.

  2. ORDER STAFF LUNCH FROM LOCAL- When thinking of having a staff meeting instead of ordering from an establish big business that you always order from, maybe think of someone local and new. And once you try something new and establish a connection, you can refer small businesses by word of mouth, email colleagues, phone, facebook networking groups or other business owner friends. It is an exciting thing to support a small business, as you know the power of referrals and providing opportunities to a fellow entrepreneur.

  3. REFER CUSTOMER TO SMALL BUSINESS YOU KNOW- There is a power of the word of mouth for some local businesses who don't yet have the funding for major marketing yet offer some seriously amazing services. Just like in the above statement, once you try out a small business and you like it, it can definitely help small businesses make connections for growth for their next customer. You can be their personal target advertisement for the small business.

  4. SHARE ON SOCIAL MEDIA- You can support small businesses by no only buying their products but by also giving them a shout out from time to time on social media. You can also follow them on social media, or their email list. Engaging in their content is always great to give them a little praise and letting them know how great their services are, or maybe leaving them a great review.

  5. ATTEND CHAMBER EVENTS-Industry-specific organizations and your local Chamber of Commerce have monthly events that are MADE for you to make business connections. Attending these events with positivity and an open mind will get you a lot farther than constantly pitching and selling. Get to know your fellow local businesses and remember to have fun!
